At least five of each year’s hours must be parish service specifically — a diocesan requirement that shapes where students serve, not just how much.
The school profile reports 100% community-service participation. Because service is a graduation requirement rather than an opt-in programme, that figure is structurally true — it is not a measure of enthusiasm.
The largest of the six club categories: Best Buddies, Habitat for Humanity, Red Cross, Ronald McDonald House, Caritas, Mel’s Diner, Muffin Ministry, Beds for Kids, Helping Moms in Need, Golden Hearts, Live Like Bryant, Wayfinders Ambassadors and the U.S. Service Academy Club among them. Hours must be submitted by March 1 each year to be logged and approved, documented on Canvas with photographs permitted. Campus Ministry assists students in finding qualifying opportunities.
Because every graduate completes 70 hours, service hours do not differentiate one CCHS applicant from another — the parish requirement and the leadership roles behind the hours are what a college reader can actually distinguish. A family should also note the practical load: 20 hours a year from sophomore year, with a hard March 1 cutoff, on top of a seven-class timetable.
Ten honor societies, and published GPA thresholds for the academic ones. Four of the ten are world-language societies, which follows from a curriculum requiring two units of the same language and running four languages to AP.

Diocesan coverage records a North Carolina state runner-up finish and a Program Oral Interpretation state champion (Darlene Singui-Tanyi). That coverage is from 2017, older than any competitive result shipped for another school here, so no current standing can be claimed. The club meets in the CCHS Media Center under Mrs. Jennifer Taylor.
Ten societies named on the school profile. Published GPA criteria exist for five: NHS 3.9, Mu Alpha Theta 4.5 in mathematics, Science NHS 4.25 science with 4.0 overall, Rho Kappa 3.75, and International Thespian 3.0 plus 60 points. The four world-language societies and the National Art Honor Society publish no threshold, and none publishes a membership count.
Robotics exists to "promote STEAM in Charlotte Catholic and allow members to get hands-on experience" under Mr. Tucker in Room 517, but no competition circuit, team number or result is published for it. Medical Pathways and Finance are career-exploration clubs with guest speakers rather than competitive teams.
Model UN is the only conventionally competitive entry, and CCHS publishes no conference attendance or awards for it. The remainder are discussion and formation clubs — several explicitly framed through a Catholic lens, which is the distinguishing feature of this school’s academic club slate.
Journalism (234) students produce and publish the school newspaper in digital format and develop the school’s literary magazine, with an option to produce a podcast; Yearbook (235) produces the yearbook. Both are year-long English electives requiring a B average and a teacher recommendation, so this activity is timetabled rather than extracurricular and appears in no club roster.
76 clubs across six categories, nearly every one publishing a staff advisor, a meeting room and a written purpose. Service is the largest block at 23 clubs — unsurprising at a school where 70 service hours are required to graduate.
The biggest department in the school — 39 courses, one per five in the whole catalog. Arts at CCHS is not an elective afterthought: it carries more courses than English, Science or Mathematics, across five disciplines and a purpose-built centre.
Five Blumey finalists in 2025, five more nominations in 2026 — and no win yet. Fiddler on the Roof placed a finalist in every one of the five individual performance categories, which is a rare sweep of nominations for one production.
Who runs it: Marcus Riter has led theatre at CCHS for twelve years. The programme runs acting, directing, design and tech, costume and film as separate course strands, each with an Honors rung.
Performances are staged in the MACS Fine Arts Center’s 650-seat auditorium, dedicated in 2022 and shared across all Mecklenburg Area Catholic Schools.
Honest context: CCHS has NOT won a Blumey in either year — verified against Blumenthal’s own 2026 winners release, where the five individual performance awards went to North Lincoln, Carmel Christian, Northwest School of the Arts and Weddington. Recognition here is consistent and deep rather than victorious: ten placements across two years, with Maye Glessner recognised in both (Hodel in 2025, Dorothy in 2026). Note also that the school’s own performances calendar publishes nothing — the two productions above are reconstructed from Blumey records, so the real season may well be larger than the school lets a family see.
Twelve named ensembles, and an Honors rung on almost every one. The choral programme alone runs a freshman entry point, single-sex chamber ensembles at two levels, and a co-ed Honors Concert Choir at the top.
Twelve ensembles carry course codes; Marching Band and Jazz Band operate alongside them, Jazz Band as an after-school group rather than a timetabled course.
Every Honors ensemble carries the same +1 quality point as an Honors academic course, so a serious musician’s weighted GPA is not penalised for spending four years in the music wing. There is no AP Music Theory at CCHS — the Honors rungs are the ceiling.
A darkroom, a ceramics studio and a broadcast studio — nine named spaces in one building. Film photography is still taught with a working darkroom alongside the digital lab.

The centre serves all MACS schools, not CCHS alone, so availability is shared.
A genuinely large arts department that under-publishes itself. The course catalog and the Blumey record both say more than the school’s own website does.
20 sports across three seasons, played against the state’s public schools. CCHS is one of only four parochial schools in the NCHSAA, so a Cougars team is measured against North Carolina’s largest public programs rather than in a private-school bracket.
The 20 sports and their names are exactly as the school lists them on its All Sports page — it publishes no gender split for Soccer, Golf, Tennis, Basketball or Lacrosse even though it fields both boys’ and girls’ teams in each, and it groups nothing by season. The season grouping above follows the standard NCHSAA calendar; the school itself publishes the list flat. Level splits are indicative for the same reason: the individual sport pages are navigation boilerplate carrying no rosters or schedules. CCHS has no middle school — it is a 9–12 school — so no team carries an MS level, unlike every PK/K–12 school on this roster.
74 state championships since 2000 — and three more in 2026 alone. Girls soccer went undefeated; both lacrosse programs won in overtime, each ending a twelve-year drought. All NCHSAA titles.

CCHS does not publish a season-by-season title ledger, so a blank cell means "no title found for that year", not a verified loss — the 74-title total since 2000 is the school’s own figure and spans far more sports than these four.
Football 2025: 7–5 overall and 3–3 in the Southern Carolina 6A/7A conference, with 235 points scored against 198 allowed across a twelve-game season, then a 27–0 shutout of A.C. Reynolds in the opening playoff round.
Girls swimming, 2002–2015: Fourteen consecutive state championships — the longest title streak in the school’s history and the single strongest line in the 74-title total.

The 1000+ figure is the school’s own all-time count and is not restricted to these three classes, so it sits on a different time base from the rows beneath it. The Class of 2026 row is a documented MINIMUM: the February article covers only the February ceremony (football, soccer, cross country), and CCHS holds separate fall and spring signing days, so baseball and lacrosse — historically its richest sports — are largely unpublished for that class.
Lacrosse is the single strongest pipeline here — 11 of 35 documented athletes, and both lacrosse programs won state titles in 2026. Baseball is the next, and its 2026 class is almost certainly understated because that class’s baseball signings were never published.
No CCHS athlete was found in a national top-100 recruiting ranking. The 247Sports and On3 school pages return 403/404, so this is recorded as not published rather than as zero.
Cannon Ridinger graduated from CCHS after earlier attending Charlotte Country Day (also in this app) and Hotchkiss; he is attributed here by graduating school and must not be double-counted. Evan MacIntyre is counted P4 at commitment time and has since transferred to Belmont Abbey via JUCO. Mary Catherine Farley (Wofford) appears on the 2024 signing list but never on a college roster, and is excluded from every count. Alex Hoffman surfaced only through a reverse roster lookup, not a signing article.

Atrium Health provision is a genuine structural difference: coverage and continuity come from a hospital system’s staffing model. The school publishes no concussion protocol, no team-physician name and no coverage schedule by sport, so what is available at a given practice or away fixture is not disclosed.
A private school playing the public-school bracket — and an NIL policy it inherits from the NCHSAA. CCHS is one of only four parochial members of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association.

UNC-Chapel Hill is the hard one: 23.3% in Fall 2025 — 24 of 103 — against far higher rates at the less-selective universities. These are UNC-system figures published by the state, not the school’s own.

Every bucket here counts MATRICULATIONS, not acceptances. A student is admitted to many colleges and enrolls at one, so these counts are structurally lower than an acceptance-based list and must not be read as a harder or weaker admissions result than a school that publishes acceptances.
The scholarship total is the class-wide figure the school publishes; it is not broken out by institution, by merit-versus-need, or per student.
Honest caveat: The profile’s own heading is "COLLEGE MATRICULATION CLASSES OF 2023-2025" — this is where graduates enrolled. Several schools on this roster publish acceptance lists instead, which are much longer by construction. Comparing the two directly understates CCHS.

A large, transparent, athletically dominant Catholic high school that publishes more than most. The profile answers the questions a family actually asks — and the tuition structure answers one no other school on this roster raises.
Four sports camps CCHS runs for the surrounding community — for children aged 6 to 13, not for its own high schoolers. Charlotte Catholic is a 9–12 school. Its summer slate is outreach coaching for younger children in the neighbourhood, plus two non-CCHS programmes it points its own students toward.
Every camp below is a half-day athletic camp hosted by a CCHS coaching staff and open to the community. Ages are the campers’ ages, which run well below CCHS’s own 9–12 enrollment. The school runs no academic summer school and no credit recovery — its handbook twice states that a student who fails a course retakes it externally, "at their expense over the summer".

The International rate applies to students requiring an I-20. The **$21,562** community rate is the figure to compare against other schools' published tuition, since it is the price to a family with no parish affiliation.
This is the structural feature no other school on this roster has: **price depends on parish participation, not on grade level or financial need**. A participating Catholic family pays **$15,041** where a community family pays **$21,562** for the same seat in the same classroom — a **$6,521 difference, roughly 30%**. Because CCHS is a 9–12 school, there is no grade-band ladder at all; these three rows are the entire schedule.

CCHS and MACS publish no merit scholarships of their own — no academic, athletic or arts merit awards appear anywhere in the published record. Aid here is need-based (FIT), parish-status-based (the Catholic rate and multi-child discounts), or state-funded.
